Making a Global Impact: Leading the Change with the Global Shapers Community

Updated: Oct 8, 2023

Hosting an incredible Global Curators Panel with Shapers from Luanda, Hong Kong, Prague, Brussels, Philadelphia, and Cartagena.

For the past three years, I've been immersed in the realm of social impact through my involvement with the Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum. Shapers Community is made up of over 14,000 young change-makers under 30, united in tackling local, regional, and global issues. Across 456 city-based hubs throughout 150 countries, Shapers collaborate to address community needs through diverse projects, spanning disaster response, poverty alleviation, climate action, and fostering inclusive societies. As the 2023-24 Curator of the Brooklyn hub, I've been blessed to steer my team's endeavors. A Hub leader responsible for strengthening relationships across communities and supporting all members it was great to see the impact from this event. Our recent collaboration with other NY hub leaders was truly a milestone, with a summit featuring a diverse panel of global speakers from Europe, Africa, Asia and more.

The purpose-driven conversations of the Global Shapers, the knowledge exchange, the shared aspirations, insights into different cultures, and the collective drive were profound. The discussions were a testament to the power of global collaboration and these experiences enriched my worldview.
